One of our favorite games to play, giddy in our seats, while awaiting a bride’s first steps down the aisle is “guess the veil.” And if last year was all about glittery, jazzed-up versions that can affectionately be described as “extra,” this year brides are switching things up yet again, often opting to forgo veils entirely. “Brides are turning traditionalism on its head—literally—and rethinking the classic veil with showstopping modern alternatives,” says Dayna. From bridal hats to feathered headpieces, there’s a fresh head-topper for every bridal style.
Never again will partygoers accidentally leave their favors behind when they head home at the end of the night. “This year, brides and grooms are sending guests away with gifts thoughtfully selected to be utilized and enjoyed in their everyday lives,” says Dayna. Because in an age of increasing attention to clutter (thank you, Marie Kondo), functional is the name of the game, and the most popular picks of the moment are the ones designed to be put to use—or even consumed, like these petite, personalized servings of coffee and honey.
Identifying your target market is key. Your target market is the group of people who will buy your cards. Getting the word out about your product is your marketing plan. Knowing your target market will help you define your prices and determine where to market your cards. For example, if you sell cards which will appeal to hipsters, your target market is going to be very different than if you are selling cards for a kid's birthday.
My granddaughter starts kindergarten this year and she has sight words she'll need to know. We made her a set of flash cards with all 300 of her sight words for the year. I needed to get them done and shipped off so she could get a head start and they were here before I knew it. Easy to use, did a mail merge and printed them all out with minor corrections, mostly of the mea culpa variety.

Think about the product that you are selling. Put together a product development plan that shows how versatile your idea is. Can it grow? Does that product spawn other products or idea that can potentially sell? While simply making some cards and putting them up for sale might prove successful, you will likely need more than the initial product. A product development plan will help take out the guesswork of how to make products that sell.
Shortly after the IPO in 2015, a group of investors filed a class action lawsuit against Etsy claiming fraud. The suit claimed that Etsy's CEO and officers failed to disclose numerous problems with the site which could affect the stock price, among them that "more than 5 percent of all merchandise for sale on Etsy’s website may be either counterfeit or constitute trademark or copyright infringement” and that “brands are increasingly pursuing sellers on Etsy for trademark or copyright infringement, jeopardizing listing fees and commissions." The suit also claimed that Etsy management knew of the rampant trademark and copyright infringement but did little to stop it, and in fact worked to hide this information from potential investors.[76]
In March 2011, Etsy "introduced a Facebook-style social networking system called People Search...to help buyers and sellers connect with each other and become friends". By doing so, Etsy made any past purchase with feedback easily searchable, which caused many complaints. Etsy then made changes to the site to better guard information regarding users' purchases.[68]
As of December 31, 2014, Etsy had 54 million users registered as members,[4] and the online marketplace for handmade and vintage goods connected 1.4 million sellers with 19.8 million buyers.[5] At the end of 2014, Etsy had 685 employees,[6] and had 29 million items listed.[7] In 2014, Etsy had total sales, or Gross Merchandise Sales (GMS), of US$1.93 billion on the platform.[4] Of this, 36.1% came from purchases made on mobile devices and 30.9% was generated outside the US.[4]

A little bit about this print. The Christmas Carol is my husband’s favorite Christmas movie/book of all time. Every year around Christmas we are forced asked to watch every version of the movie. Some of my kids like this tradition, others do not (I fall into this category). But it’s becoming a tradition and when I saw this book in the digital library I had to use it.
Social media is a great place to get the word out about your handmade cards. Whether it's Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram, or another outlet, you have a tremendous opportunity to reach a wide group of people the world over. Look for Facebook sales groups, which are groups that allow selling to members. Some groups do not allow selling and you will risk coming over as spammy if you post in these groups without permission. Do a search on Facebook for Etsy groups. There are plenty to choose from. Instagram can also be a great place to show your work, just make sure that the link in your profile is to your store.
